Basics Clinic Mechanics Mechanics Videos Cue Ball Control Advanced Skills Class Schedule Instructors Alumni Testimonials At the Riviera!

Good mechanics are essential to attaining a high level of play.  They provide the accuracy and consistency in pocketing balls and in cue ball control that is required to win games consistently.

A video analysis of the student's mechanics is used to identify opportunities for improvement during the class, and to allow the student to grade the quality of their mechanics and the level of improvement that they make during the class.

The Mechanics class teaches the student the requirements for each component that make up  mechanics.  With this knowledge and guidance from the instructors, the student then develops their own accurate and consistent mechanics.  Students also learn a shooting sequence that ensures that every shot is executed correctly.

Students learn simple methods which are used to develop accurate and consistent control of the speed of the cue ball.  This is an essential skill to successfully play a safety by moving the cue ball an inch or to play position for the next shot at the other end of the table.

With accurate and consistent mechanics and speed control, the student then learns to stop the cue ball at various distances.  This is the foundation of cue ball control and position play.

Diagnostic tools are provided to the student so that they can evaluate their mechanics themselves in game situations and to correct them.  Practice drills are provided to maintain or correct the students mechanics, to become accurate in controlling the speed of the cue ball, and to perfect their ability to stop the cue ball.
